The Accelerator program of the Armenian Virtual Bridge (AVB) conducted a hybrid sync-up session held at Yerevan State University, on November 22, 2021. The program was offered last Fall by AGBU - Silicon Valley and RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and made possible by AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC).

The event was attended by the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Chair of the AGBU Silicon Valley and AVC Founding President, Dr. Yervant Zorian, the startup founders & CEOs, mentors and representatives from participating organizations.

Last fall, 15 startup companies from Armenia, out of 105 applicants, were selected to participate in the Armenian Virtual Bridge Accelerator program. In addition to the 8-weeks long training and networking sessions led by world-renown exerts, in marketing, sales, legal, and finance, the startup CEOs and founders worked closely with a group of professional mentors guiding them through the process. On the Demo Day on January 28, the startups pitched their business projects to a group of international investors from Silicon Valley.

At this sync-up event, the Founders and CEOs of the participating startup companies delivered individual talks and shared their feedback for future editions of this program. The mentors and prominent industry leaders from Silicon Valley also joined the sync-up session, virtually and expressed their viewpoints. 

“In the last year, we have grown about 8 times, in terms of revenue, and of course, this would not be possible without the global Armenian community, and especially without this AVB program,” said Gerasim Hovhannisyan, a CEO and program participant.

The goal of the AVB program is to connect the innovative and scientific talent in Armenia to the world’s leading technology center, Silicon Valley. Due to the global pandemic, it had to be held virtually this time. AGBU Armenian Virtual College was eager to provide expert virtualization and its online platform for the successful implementation of the program.
