AGBU AVC Joins “405 Educational Alliance”: Aligning Visions for Armenia’s Educational Future 11/05/2025

As the official representative of AGBU Armenia, AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC) has joined other founding organizations to create the “405 Educational Alliance” (405) – a coalition of leading educational institutions dedicated to reforming Armenia’s education system through collaboration, research and innovation.

The name of the alliance refers to the year 405 AD, when Mesrop Mashtots created the Armenian alphabet. Just as the alphabet united the nation culturally and linguistically, the alliance aims to become a driving force in strengthening our national identity through education.

Together, AGBU AVC and “405” members seek to make learning more innovative, accessible and high-quality by using modern technology and research-driven approaches to enhance the learning experience for students in Armenia and globally. By uniting expertise from Armenia’s foremost educational organizations, the “405 Alliance” aims to equip the next generation with the skills and mindset needed for a rapidly changing world.

The alliance focuses on improving education policy through research, promoting evidence-based decisions and increasing public awareness of key challenges in Armenia’s education system. Through its participation in the alliance, AGBU AVC actively supports these goals and continues to build a strong foundation for a globally competitive and innovative environment for Armenian education.

AGBU AVC is also a member of the working group “AI Application in the Teaching Process” coordinated by the 405 Alliance. Together with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the group is focused on developing strategic documents and action plans for integrating artificial intelligence into education.

The “405 Educational Alliance,” co-founded by the Ayb Educational Foundation, AMAA Armenia, Armenian Educational Foundation, the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), Teach For Armenia, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Armenia, was officially launched in March 2025, bringing forth a new model of collaboration in Armenia's educational landscape.
